Specifically, public speaking for confidence, and learning to be be flexible in my thinking and outlook on life.
I learned to speak enough Spanish to embarrass myself at times, but it expanded my confidence and self-esteem by not feeling totally left out. At least I can read public signs well enough to take a stab at understanding the message.
