Jay Lynch adds: Sometimes I feel like Homer Simpson when I slap my forehead and think “D’oh!” after reading an article like this one. It all seems so obvious and simple. Why it’s so difficult to follow basic guidelines for dieting, I don’t know. For me it just is, but I believe these recommendation and recipes will make it easier.
I need to practice what is referred to as mindful eating, which is simply a matter of paying attention to what I’m doing, what I’m eating, how I’m eating, recalling what I know to do better, and then doing it. Like all self-discipline issues, easier said than done but not impossible.
